Adults
Physical and mental changes that occur in adulthood can sometimes reveal new neuropsychological conditions or cause an existing condition to worsen. Left undiagnosed or untreated, these problems can affect social interactions, work or academic performance, and overall self-esteem. Our doctors specialize in neuropsychological conditions in adults. We work with individuals to understand the challenges they are facing and how these are affecting them in their day-to-day lives.
Some of the conditions we see in adults include:
-
ADHD
-
Anxiety
-
Bipolar disorder
-
Depression
-
Early onset dementia
-
Traumatic brain injury
Diagnosis and Treatment
When making a diagnosis we begin with feedback from the individual, their loved ones, and other medical professionals. We also perform a neuropsychological evaluation. This is an important part of the diagnostic process consisting of questions and standardized measures that help us understand how the individual’s brain processes information.
Once we have a clear understanding for the problem at hand, we work to provide a personalized treatment plan. These plans are comprehensive and strive to help the individual through a variety of treatment approaches. Some of the treatments we may recommend include:
-
Speech, occupational, or physical therapy
-
Psychotherapy
-
Behavioral changes and lifestyle modifications
-
Accommodations for work or learning
